Lisa and Jordan {October 19, 2019}

So let’s be honest - I am terrible about blogging! Like the worst. I have the best intentions to blog every wedding, and then I get into the thick of wedding season and I just forget. By the time I remember I’m still recovering. So this is a little late - but better late than never!

However, this wedding is pretty special. My beautiful sister Lisa said I Do to Jordan in a beautiful and intimate ceremony in October. 35 of their closest friends and family gathered at a very special place and celebrated. Because of the intimacy of the wedding, I really tried to make it a great weekend for all family and friends. Since all my sister’s and my grandparents are no longer with us, I wanted to include activities that we could all do as a family to reconnect. Family traveled from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, and friends from Tennessee and Germany, so I really wanted to create a weekend of memories.

We started the weekend on Thursday. Since Lisa lives in Florida, her best friend in Germany, and I was pregnant for the majority of her engagement, we didn’t really have a bachelorette party for her. Instead, we treated ourselves to lunch at Athenian Grill (one of Lisa’s favs), Ice Cream at Crank and Boom, Blow Outs at Blo Blow Dry Bar, and Manicures at Anthony Vince Nail Salon. When we returned back to my parent’s farm we had a welcome BBQ for all of Lisa’s and Jordan’s families to get to know each other!

A Friday in October isn’t complete without a trip to Keeneland, and we all gathered to tailgate and bet on the horses. It was Owen’s first time to Keeneland, and I think since he is around horses so much his favorite thing was all the tractors, and begging everyone for food!

After Keeneland we headed to the venue for the rehearsal. Lisa and Jordan chose to get married at Moundale Manor, which is actually owned by Lisa’s best friend’s mom, and also where I started my event career. We practiced and then headed to the Art Gallery at The Winchester Opera House for an Italian feast! If their is one thing I know about the Winchester Opera House, it is how good the food is, and it did not disappoint.

The morning of the wedding we had a catered brunch at the farm from Kenwick Kitchen, who happens to be my best friend. Kat is an amazing chef, and everyone couldn’t stop raving about the food. After brunch we loaded up (Nate in tow) and headed to the house for the wedding!

I will let the photos do the talking for the wedding. Even though this is what I do for a living the wedding turned out better than I could have hoped. The kids and dog behaved, flowers were gorgeous, food delicious, and everyone got to enjoy a wonderful evening together. A few tears shed, but a lifetime of memories gained.

Thank you to the amazing vendors who helped make their day perfect. I couldn’t have done it without you all
